The mission of the Spenser Somers Foundation

The mission of the Spenser Somers Foundation is to bring together resources and people to serve others in need. Through programs to support families and individuals in times of hardship, the SSF aims to carry on the legacy of service and caring that Spenser taught those close to him.

Thank you for your continued support of Camp V.I.P at True Friends Camp Courage.

The SSF is proud to announce the largest fundraising campaign in our history!

It is with great pride that we are now the primary sponsor for Camp VIP. For 34 years, Camp VIP has provided an incredible experience that enriches the lives of children undergoing therapy for cancer and blood diseases, as well as their families. Our partner, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, provides a medical team who stays onsite with the children to attend to their medical needs, which is what makes our camp unique and allows parents to be at ease while their kids are away.

We have set an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 over the next three years to help keep this camp running. The camp has served roughly 100-110 kids a year, but it has been in a state of flux over the last three years scrambling to find funding while having to turn away 20-30 kids last year alone. Broken down in it’s simplest terms, it costs roughly $750 to send a child to camp. We hope that you will join us in supporting this endeavor, as it truly reflects the spirit of the Spenser Somers Foundation.
